Dorothy Morgan, LAC

Dorothy Morgan is a licensed associate counselor (LAC) at Calm Psych, dedicated to supporting and guiding individuals towards optimal health and wellness. As an Arizona native, Dorothy finds joy and peace in the beautiful natural surroundings of the desert and Arizona high country. Her passions include immersing herself in the arts, hiking, and nature photography. She believes that both art and nature serve as powerful sources of healing inspiration, contributing significantly to physical and mental health.

 

Dorothy holds a Master’s degree in Counseling (MS) from Prescott College, a Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts (BFA) from Arizona State University, and a post-bachelor's teaching certificate from Rio Salado College. Additionally, she is a certified grief-informed professional (CGP). Dorothy's extensive background in fine arts includes creating, teaching, and performing multicultural visual and performing arts with children and seniors throughout Arizona for over two decades.

 

With six years of experience in providing trauma-informed counseling, crisis support, and grief/loss counseling, Dorothy has worked with children, adults, and seniors in various settings, including schools, outpatient facilities, and hospice environments. Her therapeutic practice integrates evidence-based therapies such as Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), along with holistic, person-centered therapeutic art and mindfulness-based practices to support overall health and wellbeing.
